The Strength of Us
Keeping Cool Heads on our roads
Lisa and Nigel speak with Greater Shepparton's leading senior constable, Glenn Gibson who is also part of the local crime prevention team. One prevention that Constable Glenn is passionate about is road safety and in this episode he speaks about the Cool Heads young driver program.
Road safety is at the forefront of the minds of police and emergency services as the world is opening up. As we get back on the roads to visit family and friends, the people who protect us and care for us are praying that the road accident numbers don't spike during this season of celebration and socialising.
In 2020 the number of lives lost on Victorian roads was 211 with 159 of those being male in comparison to 52 females. A massive difference. Another major difference is how many more lives are lost on rural Victorian roads in comparison to Metropolitan.
